Volunteer Spotlight, Wes Styles

Wes Lakeview East

Wes Styles

Three Rivers State Park

Wes grew up in South Florida and had a long career in telecommunications. He worked in Northwest Florida restoring services after a hurricane and grew to like the area. Once he retired, becoming a volunteer fell right into his jack-of-all-trades nature.

Wes performs a variety of maintenance tasks for the park and is always willing and able to perform administrative duties and visitor services when needed. He has made his mark everywhere in the park – from repaired bridges on trails to a new canoe-and-kayak rack in the campground. His work helps the park tremendously and helps keep him from staying idle – which he doesn’t enjoy.

Wes is a lover of the sun and the Florida summer heat. He loves the trails at Three Rivers and has played a major role is getting them ready for visitors after Hurricane Michael. Wes is always willing and ready to perform any tasks that the parks need with a cheerful disposition. He is a member of our park family – and we love seeing him and Reggie (his faithful dog) return each year.
