Laura Junior

Perdido Key State Park

Laura Junior and husband Jeff spend winters volunteering with Florida State Parks. They were drawn to Perdido Key for the beautiful scenery, gulf waters, hiking, kayaking and the total serenity. Laura has always been the outdoorsy and she’s passionate about wildlife, nature and camping. Volunteering in state parks allows her to pursue those passions while giving back to the community.

For Laura, the best part about being a volunteer is getting to see the local area more than most and meeting the many park visitors and exchanging stories of her travels. Laura enjoys helping out wherever she is needed and can be found completing park repairs, painting, or beautifying the beaches of Perdido Key State Park. Walking the beach is her favorite activity in the park, especially in the early morning or late evening hours when it feels like her own private beach.

Laura invites you to visit a Florida State Park. Come learn about the environment and how to help save it for future visitors.
