Kenneth and Tonya Decker

Blackwater River State Park

Kenneth and Tonya Decker are from Warren, Oregon, a little town outside of Portland. Ken grew up in the San Joaquin Valley of California and Tonya grew up in northwest Washington. The two have been married for 25 years and enjoy spending time together. Their goal is to see all 50 states together and immerse themselves in nature's beauty along the way.

The Deckers were drawn to this part of Florida because it enables them to visit family that they have in the area. Since arriving they have fallen in love with the rivers, trails and landscape of northwest Florida.

As campground hosts, the pair work as a team to give back to the park. The Deckers can be seen doing it all, from performing park maintenance to greeting park visitors. They particularly enjoy sharing their knowledge of the park and surrounding area. A “must” on their list is taking the time for a bike ride on the nearby Blackwater River Heritage State Trail.
