Jim Murphy, Campground Host

Faver-Dykes State Park

Jim Murphy is a campground host at Faver-Dykes State Park. He started out as an avid camper who enjoyed fishing on the Pellicer Creek. The more Jim camped, the more he enjoyed the company of the fellow campers. Jim became so familiar with Faver-Dykes State Park as a camper, that the staff go to know him.

Jim began helping as a camper, becoming invested in the upkeep of the property led Jim to becoming a campground host. Jim’s personal knowledge of the park and the resources benefits the staff and visitors, and his love for the history of the park is evident.

When asked why he wanted to be a campground host, Jim’s replied “I enjoy seeing the campers and families having a good time in this beautiful place.”

Jim has been a valuable asset to our team and we are so appreciative of all his efforts!
