Volunteer Spotlight, Bill Johnson

Volunteer Bill Johnson

Bill Johnson

Ochlockonee River State Park

Bill has always loved being outdoors, especially when he's fishing, hunting and enjoying the wildlife. He lived in the Florida Panhandle for five years and now he volunteers at Ochlockonee River State Park and Bald Point State Park, working both in the field and doing maintenance. He helps out with everything.

Bill got his start as a volunteer when he was referred by a ranger, and he keeps coming back to the parks because of the people and friendships he has made. He also enjoys the river, hiking and the Primitive Arts Festival. Bill would like to see the festival continue every year as well as see the park expand. He says his favorite part about his volunteer position is working with good people and states, “I will work at the park as long as I am able.”
