Park Ranger, Nick Wiggins

Wekiwa Springs State Park     

Nick Wiggins began his career with Florida Park Service un 2009 as an AmeriCorps member, learning firsthand the joy that came from maintaining parks and Florida’s ecosystems. Nick became a park ranger at Sebastian Inlet State Park in 2012, where he was highly involved with interpretation and prescribed fire. His turtle walks and guided kayak tours were a favorite of visitors.

in 2015, Nick came to Wekiwa Springs State Park and continues to set an example of teamwork and passion for the park system. He is always ready to teach new employees how to use the equipment and is enthusiastic when delivering interpretive programs. He continues to be a leader on prescribed burns and is one class away from receiving his Certified Prescribed Fire Burner certification. 

Ranger Wiggins has been recognized tor the most acres burned in a year and also received the Prestigious Lifesaver Award. Visitors and coworkers can always count on a smile and a positive, helpful attitude from ranger Nick Wiggins as he continues to share his passion for ...the Real Florida
