Park Services Specialist, Mike Kinnett
While caring for the Orman House Historic State Park, Park Services Specialist Mike Kinnett has become a well-respected local historian and nationally award-winning author in Apalachicola. In 2007 he took charge of an empty house and began reconnecting with the Orman decedents, and enlisted volunteers to help fill the rooms with original family artifacts.
With his volunteers, Mike recently completed the restoration of the Orman kitchen back to its glory days. Kinnett enjoys sharing his popular tours of Apalachicola's rich heritage with thousands of visitors from around the world. Known around town as Ranger Mike, the Orman House is not just his job but a passion.
