Administrative Assistant, Leeanne Chandler

San Marcos de Apalache Historic State Park

Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park

Natural Bridge Battlefield State Park

As a child Leeanne spent her summers with her grandparents enjoying the outdoors in Marianna Florida.  Whether it was hiking, fishing, bird-watching or camping she always loved being outdoors because it always gave her a “sense of calmness.” She started with the Florida Park Service in 2007 with the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) administering financial assistance grants to local governments for acquisition or development of land for public outdoor recreation.  In 2011 an opportunity opened for Leeanne to take an administrative position with the Tallahassee/St. Marks Administration that manages eight parks which includes Lake Jackson Mounds Archaeological State Park, Lake Talquin State Park, Letchworth-Love Mounds Archaeological State Park, San Marcos de Apalache Historic State Park, Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park, Econfina River State Park, Tallahassee/St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail and the St. Marks River Preserve State Park

Leeanne has a vast array of knowledge when it comes to the administrative duties for the parks.  She’s very informative and friendly whether it’s helping a fellow co-worker or visitor and always takes the extra mile to help in any way she can.  Her administrative duties keep her very busy and managing 25 park budgets doesn’t leave much time for her to work outside in the parks.  Occasionally if time allows she jumps to the opportunity to get out and work on special projects/events alongside her park family.
