Environmental Specialist, Justin Lamb

Estero Bay Preserve State Park

Justin Lamb is a Florida native who recently joined the Florida Park Service. He is the Environmental Specialist at Estero Bay Preserve State Park and he can’t imagine himself working anywhere else. Justin is an avid outdoorsman who loves to spend his free time fishing, camping and hunting. As a conservationist, he has a passion for the outdoors and takes pride in helping to preserve the natural and cultural resources at Estero Bay.

On any given day, you may find Justin running around the park, doing his part to take care of the many tasks involved with maintaining the property. This includes maintaining the trails for visitor use, removing invasive plants or even helping to plan the next prescribed burn. Justin’s extensive knowledge makes him an asset in many departments and he is always happy and willing to help out.

Justin’s most involved role is helping to oversee the volunteers and interns from Florida Gulf Coast University. Under his leadership, this group helps to maintain the almost 11,000 acres of land at the preserve.

Justin is proud to know that his work at the park makes an impact. He is glad that he is in a place where his passion and knowledge can be used to help preserve this beautiful piece of land for future generations.
