Park Ranger, Joanna Lindsey

Constitution Museum State Park

Ranger Joanna Lindsey is a true Florida native. She loves all things nature and has always made the most of the wonderous recreational opportunities that abound in this great state.  She enjoys fishing, scuba diving and sailing in the Gulf of Mexico; canoeing/kayaking the crystal-clear springs, hiking in the pine flatwoods, visiting Florida’s amazing historical sites, just to name a few! Eager to help others enjoy the same natural and cultural resources, she decided to join the Florida Park Service.

Joanna started out working in sales and owned her own business until 1997 when she began her current career and has been loving life ever since. Most of her time has been spent protecting and maintaining the natural resources of St. Andrews, Topsail Hill Preserve and Henderson Beach State Parks.  In 2013 she started working at the Constitution Convention Museum State Park which offers not only a place to enjoy nature, but an opportunity to learn about Florida’s path to statehood. She has always been a history buff so what a perfect place for her to share her passions.

As the Museum’s sole employee, Joanna stays quite busy maintaining the park’s 14-acre grounds. She still manages to devote a lot of time to researching the history that is within the scope of the museum.  She enjoys providing tours for schools and other organized groups. Though the museum is setup for self-guided tours, Joanna is more than happy to impart her historical knowledge on all who visit.  She may sprinkle in some inconsequential info or maybe even break into song; whatever it takes to provide a fun and educational experience for guests of all ages. Never underestimate anyone’s capacity to learn and enjoy history!
