Elizer Pino, Park Ranger

Indian Key Historic State Park

Wanting a change in his career and a little variety in his work, Elizer came to work at the Islamorada Area State Parks in October 2019. Elizer’s extensive background in maintenance, construction and landscaping serves him well as a Park Ranger. During his time at the parks, Elizer has worked on many projects to maintain and renovate park facilities, and he also has helped with exotic removal projects. No matter the job, Elizer likes to look back on a completed project and see a job well done.

According to Elizer, the best part of working with Islamorada Area State Parks is the variety of work that he gets to do. And, he says, there is always a beautiful commute to get to the job site at the island parks. This is perfect for Elizer, who enjoys spending time on and around the water. He also enjoys learning about the history of the parks and answering visitor questions on how best to enjoy the parks.

On the weekends, Elizer likes to spend time with his family, often taking his children fishing in the Keys.
