Assistant Park Manager, Chris Clauson

Faver-Dykes State Park

Chris started his career in 2004 with the Florida Park Service as a volunteer at Anastasia State Park, while he was still a student at Flagler College. Once he graduated, he took an internship at Anastasia and shortly got hired on as an OPS. Chris quickly made my way up the ranks, to the Assistant Park Manager.

After four years of working at Anastasia, Chris was recruited to the D3 fire team, also know as the Bat team. He was on the Bat team for four years. Chris started the team green and by the end of the four years, he made it to become burn boss. Chris completed his certification burn at St. Sebastian River Preserve State Park

Chris' next park was Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park where he began to boss burns regularly in one of his favorite habitats in the state. The time spent at the Prairie honed his skills in other areas such as birding, astronomy, interpretation, buggy driving and other skills of the remote life!

After two years, Chris took the job as Assistant Park Manager at Washington Oaks Garden and Faver-Dykes State Park near St. Augustine.
