Park Ranger, Charlie Baisden

Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park

Charlie Baisden has been a park ranger at Wakulla Springs since 2010. Charlie’s greatest passion is interpretation. Aside from the hundreds of interpretive river boat tours he delivers each year, Charlie has developed and delivered numerous park programs on topics such as tree identification, karst geology, and the history and design of the Wakulla Springs Lodge.

Charlie has been instrumental in designing and executing an expansion of the Junior Ranger program that has allowed thousands of students from local elementary schools to complete the core activities and be sworn in as Junior Rangers. Charlie also works with local schools to conduct an annual Reading with a Ranger program that brings the message of wildfire prevention to area youth each September.

Charlie is a motivated and gifted interpreter of our precious natural and cultural resources. We hope that you will visit Wakulla Springs soon and allow Charlie and the rest of our amazing staff to share our story with you.
