Park Services Specialist, Amanda Nappier

General James A. Van Fleet State Trail

Amanda, a lifelong Floridian, began her career with the Florida Park Service at Lake Louisa State Park in 2013, after working as a cabin attendant for two years.

After becoming a park ranger, Amanda discovered her passion for interpretation and giving interpretive programs, specializing in snake programs. Amanda enjoys going to schools, as well as doing on-site programs for children and adults.

Amanda was promoted to park services specialist at the General James A. Van Fleet State Trail in 2018, where she continues to learn and grow.

In the summer of 2018, Amanda oversaw the reconstruction of the large wooden bridge on the southern end of the trail near the town of Polk City, a large undertaking that took many months to complete.

Along with overseeing the trail, Amanda continues to participate in the Florida Park Service's prescribed fire program on a regular basis and continues to support the nearby Lake Louisa State Park interpretive programs.
