Maintenance Supervisor, Allen Murray

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

His time in the military instilled Allen Murray with a deep appreciation for service to his country and to the public. Allen sees public service as the very core of a ranger’s identity. He is a “Ranger First,” committed to protecting and preserving Florida’s prized properties. Allen believes his duties as a park ranger are simply a continuation of his service. As the park’s maintenance supervisor, Allen is the first line of defense against Florida’s sometimes-unpredictable weather.

After serving in the military, Allen wanted to continue a career in service so he joined the Florida Park Service in 2013.  He is currently the Maintenance Supervisor at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park but wholeheartedly serves with the spirit of “Ranger First.”  His position allows him to be involved in all aspects of the daily operations of the park, but he really enjoys removing exotic species from the park. To him being a ranger is important because it allows him to take care of the environment by protecting and preserving it for future generations to come. On his time off, Allen is often found on the road in his Mustang enjoying all the beauty Florida has to offer.
