Description

Ybor City Museum State Park is one of Florida’s two National Historic Landmark Districts. The area is filled with a rich history and heritage which only serves to make the city more charming. The brick roads and quaint store fronts offer you a view into the past, during a time where this area was making its mark on the map as one of Florida’s premier cities.

The museum itself is inside the former Ferlita Bakery that was a prominent part of the community from 1880s to the early 1900s.

Ybor City Museum

The original ovens are still in the museum although they are not operational. As you tour the museum you will learn the history of how this area was founded to how it became the home of the largest cigar factory in the world.

Next to the museum is the casita, or little house. This restored house is a typical example of what a cigar worker’s house would have looked like in the early 1900s. Take a look into the lifestyles of the cigar workers and the blooming Latin community that established Ybor City.

The museum is complete with a gift shop so that you may pick up some souvenirs to remember your visit to Ybor City Museum State Park.
