Cyclists of all levels will find a challenging and enjoyable ride on the 15 miles of multi-use trails. Be prepared to meet the occasional hiker, horseback rider or park vehicle.

Canoe Camping
Two primitive canoe campsites are accessible only by canoe or kayak. Indian Mound and Buffalo Tram are two beautiful campsites located on Rock Springs Run. Travel to either site can begin from any livery along the Wekiva River or inside Wekiwa Springs State Park.
- These campsites are primitive. Both sites have fire rings and can accommodate up to 10 people each.
- Pets are permitted in accordance with our Pet Policy.
- Campers are required to be at the primitive campsite at least two hours before park closing. Campers have no vehicle access to these sites.
- Reservations are required and can be made no more than 60 days in advance by calling Wekiwa Springs State Park at 407-553-4383.
- Canoes and kayaks can be rented inside Wekiwa Springs State Park or at other liveries along Rock Springs Run and the Wekiva River. You can even plan trips to include other canoe sites located in Wekiwa Springs State Park. Information on overnight canoe or kayak rentals, shuttles or guided trips can be obtained at Nature Adventures or by calling 407-884-4311.
Geocaching is an outdoor game using hand-held global positioning systems (GPS) devices. It's effectively an inexpensive, interactive, high-tech treasure hunt that's a great way to learn geography. Participants use location coordinates to find caches. Some caches are easy to find; others are more difficult.
The biggest reward is the thrill of the search and the discovery of a place where you have never been. Geocaching should have minimal impact to the environment and conscientious land-use ethics should be followed.
The reserve has 14 miles of hiking trails that lead through sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, bayheads, oak hammocks and swamps.
A unique natural feature of the reserve is the spring/run river system that surrounds most of the reserve's perimeter and can be accessed from the hiking trails. This system is formed from the discharge of several artesian springs together with the tannic runoff from the surrounding watershed, creating one of the most scenic canoe trails in Central Florida. It is truly beautiful and wonderfully serene!

- Rock Springs Run State Reserve has several weekend hunts from October to January. During the hunt weekends, parts of the trail system are closed and all hunting areas are posted. See park alerts for more information.
Guided Horseback Tours are provided by Rock Springs Guest Ranch. Rides explore a variety of natural eco-communities and journey through historical sites such as the Lost Town of Ethel, allowing visitors to become immersed in the vibrant setting. Wildlife is abundant on our trails, and there is no better vantage point for exploring than on horseback!
Tours are suitable for riders of all experience levels, even first-time riders, and are available 365 days per year. Participants must be at least 8 years old to participate. For more information or to make reservations visit their website or call 844-779-7625.
The Historic Hammock House
Nestled directly on the Wekiva River, is a spacious Florida ranch-style retreat perfect for groups of up to 16. This private home features 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a large living area, game room and a fully equipped kitchen—ideal for family gatherings or getaways with friends. Relax on the expansive back deck or enjoy cozy moments in the comfortable living room.
The House offers direct, private river access for paddle craft and also boasts a private 9-stall horse barn for visitors traveling with their own horses.

The Florida black bear, Florida scrub-jay, sandhill crane, indigo snake, gopher tortoise and a variety of more common species often are seen throughout the reserve.
Amenities
Rock Springs Run State Reserve is committed to providing a variety of amenities accessible to all of our visitors. These amenities include:
- Cabin for overnight accommodations.
- Interpretive exhibits.
- Restrooms.
- The horseback riding concessionaire strives to accommodate all riders. The weight restriction is 300 pounds. Riders must be in good health, free of neck and back injuries, and not pregnant. Oxygen tanks are not allowed. Call ahead to determine if you will be allowed to participate in this activity.
- Equestrian camping is primitive. The bathhouse is accessible. There are two accessible parking spaces.
Service animals are welcome in all areas of Florida State Parks.
Rock Springs Run State Reserve has 17 miles of horse trails that are multi-use trails taking the rider through a variety of plant communities and near Rock Springs Run. Horses and riders are required to stay on the designated horse trails.

- Horses are not permitted in the spring run. There is a flowing well along the trail for thirsty horses but this water is non-potable and not for human consumption.
- Proof of negative Coggins is required.

Pets are welcome in the reserve and on the trails. Pets are not permitted in any primitive camping sites (horses are permitted for camping but only in the horse camping area). Pets must be kept on a six-foot handheld leash.
Pet owners must pick up after their pets and properly dispose of all pet droppings in trash receptacles. Florida law requires that pets be vaccinated against rabies.
- Any pet that is noisy, dangerous, intimidating or destructive will not be allowed to remain in the park.
- Non-furbearing pets, such as reptiles, birds or fish, must be confined or under the physical control of the owner.
- Some animals may be prohibited on park property.
