Myakka Outpost, Rentals and Café
Locally owned and operated by our family since 1982, we welcome you to the Myakka Outpost in beautiful Myakka River State Park. Here you'll find bike/canoe rentals, a café, souvenirs, camping supplies and more.
Pink Gator Café
Enjoy lunch, dessert or a craft beer, all while taking in the sights of the beautiful Upper Myakka Lake from our elevated facility. We are famous for our numerous fresh homemade offerings, especially our alligator stew and seafood gumbo. We serve a variety of sandwiches, wraps, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, and popular sides such as onion rings, jalapeno poppers and more.
We also have a delightful dessert bar with Swamp Gator Sundaes, ice cream, cakes and pies.
Camp Store
Our camp store offers a wide assortment of grocery items, camping supplies, ice, firewood and fishing gear for purchase.
Rentals
Canoes, kayaks, and bikes are available for rent at the Outpost. There are no advanced reservations. All equipment must be returned by 5 p.m.
The kayaks are all single-occupant boats. Each canoe can hold up to three adults or two adults and two children (under 12). For any of the boats, there is a $50 deposit (received back when boat is returned), and the cost is $20 for the first hour plus $5 for each additional hour. Life jackets and paddles/oars are provided.
Single bicycles, tandem bicycles and children's bicycles are available to rent. Helmets are provided; they are recommended for everyone and required under Florida law for bicyclists under 16.
Single person bicycles:
- Two hours: $15.
- Four hours: $25.
- Four-plus hours: $40.
Tandem bicycles:
- Two hours: $30.
- Four hours: $50.
- Four-plus hours: $80.
