Museum and Interpretive Trail

artifacts, digging, archaeology

For a valuable understanding of the site’s history, visit the museum where interpretive displays explain the details of the San Marcos fort and area. There you’ll see artifacts unearthed near the original fort.

Take a few minutes to watch a video that recounts the adventurous days and history of the Spanish, English, American and Confederate forces that once occupied this site.

Afterward, follow the self-guided interpretive trail that will lead you through the remains of the later masonry structure occupied through the Civil War.

Guided tours are available with a required minimum two-week notice to ensure availability.
