Park Manager, Lu Dodson

Take a stroll or a bike ride with an ocean breeze at your back and brilliant blue waters sparkling in the sun. Whether you are riding in your neighborhood for short distances or traveling the entire length of the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail, you will enjoy beautiful vistas along this island-hopping pathway over historical railroad bridges.

A continuous path from Key Largo to Key West seemed like just a dream when I lived in the Keys in the 90s! It is wonderful to see how the cooperation between so many different agencies have brought this dream into reality. There are many stops along the way where you can rest awhile in the shade, learn some area history, enjoy a picnic or even go fishing from a picturesque spot on a bridge.

Trail conditions were affected by Hurricane Irma but are being repaired rapidly by combined community efforts. Please remain attentive to changing trail conditions. Call the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail Office at 305-853-3571 if you have any questions.

Come ride or walk through time as you enjoy the Real Florida on the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail.
