Welcome to the St. Teresa tract of Bald Point State Park, one of the newest additions in the network of Florida state parks.

Big things are on the horizon for the St. Teresa Tract of Bald Point State Park! Starting in July 2024 we’ll be embarking on a multi-year project aimed at restoring this unique natural area

The St. Teresa Tract was once a diverse landscape, with ancient sand dunes supporting scrub habitat, wetlands, and towering pines. Over time, human activity altered the land, leading to densely clustered off-site pine trees and disrupted hydrology. Our restoration efforts will reconnect the land and water, bringing back the natural mosaic that defines this beautiful place. By doing so, we’re not only enhancing the uplands, but also safeguarding our waterways. As rain falls on the sandy soil, plants filter out the pollutants, ensuring improved water quality for surrounding fisheries and aquaculture.

During the restoration period, you may notice changes in the landscape. We’ll be working diligently to strike a balance between preserving the ecosystem and providing an enjoyable experience for all visitors. At times, access may be limited. Please check the Bald Point State Park webpage for alerts prior to your visit. As stewards of this land, your support is crucial. Please follow any posted guidelines during the restoration process, and feel free to ask your friendly park rangers about ongoing work.

Together, we can ensure that future generations can enjoy the natural beauty of this land.

We look forward to your visit!
