Park Ranger, Tom McInvale

Fanning Springs State Park

Meet Tom McInvale, park ranger at Fanning Springs State Park. Tom has been working for the Florida Park Service since 2017 and his enthusiasm for the great outdoors shines through his work daily. He grew up in Baltimore and moved to Florida in the early 1980s. He developed a love for the outdoors at a young age when he frequently went hunting and fishing. Toward the end of his first career he realized his passion for Florida State Parks.

He enjoys interacting with the many visitors and cabin guests at the park. On any given day you might find him doing trail maintenance, patrolling the spring area or greeting visitors in the ranger station. He also enjoys working with staff and volunteers on the diverse projects that are accomplished at the park. Tom looks forward to learning more about prescribed fire as he is a wildland firefighter and frequently is at other parks assisting them in meeting their burn goals.

We hope that you will visit Fanning Springs State Park soon and allow Tom and the rest of our experienced team to share our story with you.
