Park Ranger, Joe Wresilo

Avalon State Park

Meet Joe Wresilo, Park Ranger at Avalon State Park! Joe has been working for the Florida Park Service since 2017 and his enthusiasm for the great outdoors shines through daily! He grew up in the Northeast U.S. and developed a love for the outdoors during his teenage years when he frequently hiked throughout New York, Vermont and Maine.

Joe is also a proud military veteran. Prior to working at the park, he was in the Navy for 4 years and worked as a “SeaBee” operating heavy machinery.

He enjoys interacting with the many beachgoers and surfers at the park and on any given day you might find him doing trail maintenance, patrolling the beach or greeting visitors in the ranger station! When the opportunity arises, he also enjoys working with wildlife at the park and he is looking forward to conducting sea turtle nest surveys in the upcoming nesting season.

We hope that you will visit Avalon State Park soon and allow Joe and the rest of our experienced team to share our story with you.
