Staff Spotlight, Daniel Longoria
Having grown up in Ocala, Florida, Daniel has always enjoyed the solitude and beauty of nature. Now as a park ranger, Daniel gets to combine his love of the outdoors with his quest to protect and preserve North Peninsula State Park. One of the tasks he relishes most is taking the ATV on the trails of the park to pick up litter, record safety and wildlife observations, and interact with park visitors.
As a skilled mechanic, Daniel often can be found performing preventive maintenance and repairs on park vehicles. What inspires him most is the mentorship and camaraderie he shares with his co-workers. In turn, it is his upbeat personality and eagerness to learn that endear him to his park family.
Daniel joined the team at North Peninsula State Park in 2020. His goal is to become a full-time ranger and participate in the park service’s prescribed burn team.
