Special Events for Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park

• JUST READ, FLORIDA!
  Date: Tuesday - September 16th - 3PM
  Description: Park staff will be at the Regency Park Library on Sept 16th at 3pm to read the 'Lorax' by Dr. Suess. Power Point photos of the pictures in the book will be shown as the story is read. • COASTAL CLEAN UP
  Date: Saturday Sept. 20th from 8am to 12 noon.
  Description: Come join us for Coastal Clean-up. Meet at the extreme west end of State Road 52, Bayonet Point. We are a satellite site for this Pasco County event. Wear long pants and bring gloves. Water will be provided. More information about this event can be found at Salt Springs Alliance

• GUIDED NATURE WALK
  Date: Saturday Sept. 27th starting at 8am.
  Description: The walk will start at the Scenic Drive Trailhead, 0 Cinema Drive at Scenic Drive. Turn west off of US Hwy 19 at Cinema Drive, Port Richey. Walk will take approx 45 minutes. Part of the Florida Great Birding Trail. The walk leader will be Ken Tracey from West Pasco Audubon.

• “HALLOWEEN IN THE WOODS” ANNUAL EVENT.
  Date: Friday Oct. 24th and Saturday Oct. 25th from 6 to 10 pm.
  Description: Location is in a part of the park located just behind Sears at the Gulfview Square Mall, Port Richey. Spooky trails, candy, games, food, hayrides, pony rides and more. Cost is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children under 12 years of age. Entrance fee includes walking the spooky trails, candy. There will be minimal fees for other activities. Kiddie trail for the small ones and fun for all ages. Costume contest on Saturday night for ages 12 and under, prizes for winners. In addition, this year there will be two night trail runs. A one mile “Night Owl Classic” that begins at 11pm and the 5k “Creature Feature” beginning at 12 midnight. These are trail/adventure runs and a flashlight or headlamp is required.   Fees: Cost to participate in a run is $15.00 or $12.00 pre-registration. Fee includes event T-shirt.

• DIP – DESIGNATED INTERPRETIVE PADDLE
  Date: Saturday Nov. 15th at 8am.
  Description: You will need your on own kayak or canoe and all the safety equipment required to operate on the water. This guided trip will last approx 2 hours giving participants an exciting view of some of the water ways of Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State park. Launch location is at 9120 Old Post Road, Port Richey. Best to get there with time to unload boat and gear to be ready to get started by 8am. Rental boats available from local kayak shops. Some water will be provided.

• HOLIDAY NIGHTS UNDER THE STARS
  Date: Friday Dec. 5th and Saturday Dec. 6th from 4pm to 10pm.
  Description: Get in the holiday mood with a visit to Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park. Enjoy a leisurely walk along a decorated trail with craft vendors and music. Food, hayrides, games and more. Bring a chair and enjoy holiday music taking in the sights and sounds of people having fun. Location is in area of the park located just behind Sears in the Gulfview Square Mall, Port Richey.
  Fees: No entrance fee, some minimal fees for some activities.
