With careers as a union boilermaker and a chiropractic assistant, Tom and Michele Bill talked of the day retirement would come. The duo had a desire to explore new places and meet new people and knew that hitting the open road as full-time RVers was how they would make that dream a reality. Retirement came, they sold everything and set out on their next adventure.

Tom and Michele have been full-time volunteers at Long Key State Park. Their first camp host position was at Assateague Island State Park in Maryland. While they enjoyed their time there, one thing was certain: It was too cold and wet.

In search of sunnier skies and warmer weather, they migrated to Florida and have never left. Tom and Michele have worked as volunteers at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and Bahia Honda State Park. While at Long Key, Tom is working with staff as they continue to renovate and improve upon the group camping area. Stop by and say hi to Michele as she is the friendly face welcoming visitors to the park at the ranger station.

When Tom and Michele are not actively volunteering at a park, they can be found relaxing on the beach, enjoying a bike ride or hunting for geocaches.
