November is a great time of the year to visit Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The temperatures are beginning to cool, which is a refreshing break from the summer heat. It’s a nice time to go for a bike ride or go hiking in the brisk fall weather, or take a tram ride to the beach. November is also a great month to come and see one of the interesting educational programs we offer here at the park. At 4PM on Thursday November 12 come and join a family friendly indoor interpretive on the birds that deserve respect on Raptors. Learn about owls, ospreys, hawks, and more interesting hunters of the sky. Meet at the Day Use area and take a short walk to the clubhouse. On Saturday November 14, 2009 at 9AM we will have “Breakfast with a Ranger.” Come and ask the rangers all the park questions you can think about. To cover the cost of food, please bring $4 which goes to Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park to enhance the park or bring your own breakfast. Meet at the Day Use area and take a short walk to the clubhouse. On Saturday November 21 at 11:30AM come and join us for a Beachcombing interpretation. Learn about beachcombing, and about Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Meet at the Day Use area off of Hwy 30A and take a tram ride to the beach. All of the above programs require an entrance fee of $3.00 except the Breakfast with a Ranger program. For details please call (850)267-8330 or check out our Ranger Program link on our web page.

Welcome to Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

This park offers a wide variety of natural resources including 3.2 miles of secluded, white sand beaches with majestic dunes over 25 feet tall. Three rare coastal dune lakes provide excellent freshwater fishing. Although boats are not allowed, fishing from the shoreline yields bass, bream, panfish, and catfish. Lakes, pristine beaches, old-growth long leaf pines, sand pine scrub, and a variety of wetlands offer a bird-watching and hiking paradise. Visitors may bike, walk, or enjoy a quick ride to the beach on our timely tram service to swim, fish, sunbathe, or beachcomb. Gregory E. Moore RV resort features a (non-heated) swimming pool and shuffleboard courts. Furnished bungalows are available for weekly stays. A camp store offers a variety of camping items, as well as snacks and drinks. Located in Santa Rosa Beach on Route 30A, one mile off U.S. 98.
