Frequently Asked Questions about Three Rivers State Park


Question: What are the three rivers for which the park is named after?
Answer: The Flint River, Chattahoochee River, and Apalachicola River

Question: Why is the park called Three Rivers State Park?
Answer: When the Jim Woodruff Dam was constructed it created Lake Seminole into which two rivers empty--The Flint River and the Chattahoochee River. As the water passes through the Jim Woodruff Dam, it forms a third river, named the Apalachicola River.

Question: What boat ramps are available in the park?
Answer: In the camping area, a small 10’ wide boat ramp is available. In the picnick area, a full 16’ wide boat ramp is available.
