Testimonials for T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park
- "My family and I spen three days at St. Joseph State Park. I found it to be very relaxing. The crystal clear waters, calm breeze, and eye capturing sand dunes acted as a natural remedy that truly relaxed the soul. During our stay, we accomodated one of the cabins. The attending age group ranged from adults to high school and elementary students. Altogether, it was fun. I’d like to do it again."

Juniours Reshard Plummer - Crawfordville, FL - "My family had our first experience at St. Joseph’s this past May. We’re tent campers, but in all of our camping experience, we still rate this as one of the best. We can’t wait to return next May and hopefully see our new found friends again. The Bakers"

Marilyn Baker - Conyers, GA - "I first camped at your park when I was in high school - some 28 years ago. Now I bring my children camping with me. They have actually changed the words to the Beach Boys song "Kokomo" and replaced Kokomo with Pt. St. Joe. It is a tradition to begin playing it as soon as we hit the entrance to the park. This year they actually voted to come to your park rather than Orlando. See you in April."

thomas johnson - marquette, michigan - My husband brought me here for the first time in 1991 and we have returned several times since then. It is now officially my favorite place in the world. My 11 year old daughter loves it as much as I do. We finally made it to the "point" by boat and love to walk the shores. The wildlife is marvelous! The sites are great! We love T.H. Stone Memorial St. Joseph Peninsula State Park!!!!
Joanne Whitley - Marquette, Michigan - My family just got back from this park yesterday! We have camped at many State Parks, but this is BY FAR the best park I have ever been to in my entire life! I have never visited a beach with so much land inside the park and outside as well that is undeveloped! I find myself being homesick for St. Joespeh and not home!
I would recommend this place to anyone, but I just might like to keep it a secret!!!! There is so much nature here! I cannot remember a time when I have been more relaxed and happy than I was for the past week! I will definately be returning ASAP!
Jennifer Callicott - Douglasville, GA - We stayed a week in the summer at
St. Joe's state park. It was old Florida. I only wish the area could stay this way forever. We caught two large crabs, saw a sting ray and jumped waves. It was our first visit ,but not our last . I dream of returning again.
REGINA GATES - FULTON, MS - We visited in March of 2006. Our family loved staying in the cabins- and having our own boardwalk down to the bay. It's very quiet and relaxing here. We all loved swimming in the Gulf and making sand castles. The highlight was when we rented a pontoon boat on the Bay. We only got it for 4 hours, but that time went too fast! Loved seeing all the different marine life and catching our first salt water fish!! Kids each got a sand dollar and loved stopping to look at star fish, conches and more.... We'll visit again!!
The Virrueta Family - Elkhorn, WI - Tent camped for five nights in May 2008 in the Shady Pines area. Although the camp sites were smaller and closer together than expected we had a great time. The utility hookups were very nearby. Easy walking distance to the beach. The restrooms and showers were kept very clean. Wildlife observation and the beaches was fantastic. Watch out for the bugs!
Dennis Reibestein - Louisville, OH - My husband and I have been camping at St. Jo State Park for the last 6 years. We absolutely love the park because of the relaxing atmosphere and the nice people. We also love the fact that it has not been taken over with tourist attractions. When we go on vacation we want to relax and not have to worry about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There is no better place for us to spend our vacation...see you in July!
The Ouzts' - Russellville, AR
Jessica Ouzts - Russellville, AR - We spent one week in the Shady Pines campground, we had a great time.
There had just been a few days of serious rain before we got there. When we arrived the water was cloudy, but after a few days it was cystal clear, you could stand in water to your neck and still see your feet on the bottom. The beach has 60' high dunes of white sand.
We saw 3 deer, an armadillo, beach mice, lots of birds. This place is great for nature lovers. You have to be, it's about 30 miles from the nearest town of Port St. Joe.
We loved our time there and are making plans to return next year.

Larry Cowie - Charlotte, NC - This will be the third return camping trip to this beautiful place. Our family loves to snorkel in the bay; the lifeforms are so abundant and thriving! There are critters everywhere to see up close and personal. Clean campgrounds, well shaded and semi-private sites, crabbing in the ocean just before sundown, sunrise strolls on the boardwalk paths...it's the perfect mix of relaxation and recreation. I'm certain my boys and I will return again and again.
Diana Allen - Birmingham, Alabama - I visited in july 2008,this is the best camping i have done. The campsites are very private as is the beach.Everyone i met was very friendly. The bath houses were very clean. The wildlife was amazing. It is a great place to take family.
melissa bowles - Georgetown, kentucky - I have been camping at SJPSP for three years now. It is the most beautiful park I've visited. I vist at least once every two months, and always hate to leave. I can truly say that I always "rediscover" my inner-self when I'm at St. Joe SP. I finally was able to get my sons, living in central Florida, to camp there with me and they are hooked. Juan
Juan Dixon - Marianna, FL - This state park is great: beautiful, peaceful, clean, full of nature (a pair of bald eagles call the peninsula home), awesome snokeling, and ample fishing. I am a tent camper, and have visited state parks all over the country. Florida has some of the best keep parks, and St. Joe is no exception. The Shady Pines campground is wooded. More shade, private, and just as close to the beach. While in the area you should stroll the beach at Cape San Blas (15mins away). It's full of drift wood, and a lighthouse shines over the shores. St George Island is a quaint island as well (1 hour east), and is also protected by a lighthouse. Both lighthouse are open to tourist.
L McComb - Pensacola, Fl - My family and I have been coming to St.Joe's Park for 9 years. I wouldn't rather spend a week or two of my spring vacation in any other place. Between the white sandy beaches, emerald water, wildlife, hiking trails, shallow warm bay waters to explore and of course Coneheads there isn't a better place out there.
Ryan Wilkins - Buffalo, NY - What a place! The beaches are absolutley beautiful. The sand is like powder and the water is crystal blue. And it's not crowded at all. It's a great place for a relaxing vacation. Each camp site has running water and an electrical outlet. There are restroom and shower facilities that are always clean and stocked. For $20 a night, you can't beat it. Port St. Joe is one of Florida's little treasures!
Tarha - Tallahassee, FL - Just got back from 3 days at St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. We absolutely loved it. We camped at the Shady Pines site---very beautiful, quiet, and clean. The bath houses were also well maintained and clean. We spent most of our time on the beach---the park was full, but we had a large area of the beach to ourselves. The sand is absolutely gorgeous, and the water was an amazing emerald green. We will be returning soon.
Neal Gerhart - Birmingham, AL - Wonderful place ! Camping sites are clean and roomy. THe cleanest bathrooms we have ever seen ! My family and I will be returing often!
Sara Roberts - Fpuntain, FL - My wife and I have been visiting the park off and on for 9 years now. We've missed a year here and there but always try to make our annual day trip from Panama City Beach or Destin. We bring our kayaks and explore and observe the varoius wild life in and around the bay. I love the area because it is so clean, so undistrubed, and the gulf side beaches are not crowded. St. Joseph Peninsula state park is the Best place in the world to relax and clear the mind.
Len Roberts - Dunlap, TN - My family and I just returned from a week of camping in St Joseph Park. We had the BEST time! We have been going to Cape San Blas for the past ten years but this was the first time that we camped in the park. We loved it. Although the campground was full at all times, we never had any problems. The beach was beautiful as well as the bay. The bath houses were very nice, we never had to wait to use the facilities. We brought three kayaks and spent a lot of time in the bay. We kayaked all the way to the end of the Cape. It was well worth it. The water was gorgeous and at one point dolphins were all around our kayaks. It was one our of best vacations ever. And we will surely be camping here again. Soon I hope! This absolutely the best beach ever!
V Tucker - Washington, Ga - We have camped twice at Saint Joseph's and both times were amazing. Our last trip was very unusual in April of 2009: It was windy and cold for two full days, but it was still beautiful. We couldn't go to the beach, but we hiked the trails and enjoyed the areas around the cape. on the third day the wind subsided and the weather became warm and clear. We had a chance to strol the beaches and soak up the sun. No matter in what kind of weather Saint Joseph State Park is always a great place to visit!
