Question: Where is the Cape San Blas lighthouse?
Answer: The Cape San Blas lighthouse is located approximately 5 miles before St. Joseph Peninsula State Park on highway SR30E. Turn left just past the Air Force radar station through the open yellow gates.
Question: Didn’t there used to be a lighthouse here?
Answer: Yes, but it was dismantled in the 1800’s after it was severely damaged by a hurricane. Today, there are no remains of this lighthouse in the park.
Question: Where can I get a fishing license?
Answer: Local vendors outside the park offer fishing licenses and equipment. Licenses may also be obtained on-line at www.marinefisheries.org or by dialing Toll Free, 1-888-347-4356.
Question: Where can I get a dive flag?
Answer: Local vendors have dive flags to purchase or rent.
Question: What’s there to do here?
Answer: Nine miles of white-sand beaches for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, kite-flying, sunbathing. Nature trails and a Wilderness Preserve for hiking, bird-watching, bicycling. Two campgrounds, eight loft-style rental cabins, a Youth Camp facility and a Visitor Center (open seasonally.)
