A NOTE FROM THE MANAGER

Brian Addison

I want to welcome you to St. Andrews State Park and invite you to visit us during your winter vacation. Come relax at St. Andrews State Park as cooler temperatures arrive and humidity levels drop.  While visiting the park, you  can enjoy a number of recreating activities such as sunbathing, swimming, camping, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, and beautiful sunsets on the Gulf of Mexico.  If fishing is on your itinerary, you can fish from the shoreline, the lagoon pier, or on our pier, that extends 500 feet out into the Gulf of Mexico.  There is something for everyone to enjoy with a multitude of recreational opportunities and abundant wildlife activity.  Enjoy the beautiful sugar white sand and the emerald clear waters of St. Andrews State Park.

·       Bathhouse # 1 closed on July 27, 2011 for remodeling.  This is an extensive project and do not have a completion date.  I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause you while staying with us.  Please call the office if you have any questions or if you want additional information in reference the remodeling project for bathhouse # 1.

·       The boardwalk  between small pavilions in the jetties area will be closed to the public beginning on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.  The boardwalk is closing so that we can begin the work project and I anticpate that it wll take approximately three months to complete. The boardwalk will remain closed until the project is completed.   All other beach access points will remain open in the jetty area.

·    Beginning next week, the bath houses (BH) in the campground will be shutdown for one day in order to conduct a detail cleaning and to preventative maintenenance.  On February 7, BH # 3 will be closed.  On February 8, BH #4 will be closed. And on February 9, BH # 2 will be closed.  These bath houses will close at 8:00 am and remain closed until the detail cleaning is complete.  All other bath houses will remain open, except for routine cleaning, during the three day project.

While visiting St. Andrews State Park, please familiarize yourself with the color coded warning flag system for current water conditions at the entrance to the park and the beach.

We have two nature trails and Shell Island for you to explore and observe the various wildlife, plant communities, and unspoiled beachfront.

We look forward to assisting you as you enjoy your visit and recreational activities at St. Andrews State Park. Take time to visit this beautiful and diverse park located on Florida's “Emerald Coast."
