The friends group established in 1987 supports six state parks in the Florida Keys: Long Key, Curry Hammock, San Pedro Underwater Archaeological Preserve, Windley Key Fossil Reef Geological, Indian Key and Lignumvitae Key Botanical.
The Friends of the Islamorada Area State Parks conduct yearly fundraisers to provide financial support to the parks. These include Lignumvitae Christmas Festival and the Curry Hammock Car Show. The group always welcomes new members.
