The Friends of Fort Cooper was formed and incorporated on March 17, 1989, to operate exclusively for educational and charitable purposes. It functions as a citizen support organization for Fort Cooper State Park. The group works to increase public awareness about the park and its heritage and provide volunteer service for the advancement of park programs.
