Whether cycling down the bike path along State Road A1A or hiking the two-mile Coastal Strand Trail, visitors have the opportunity to see a number of rare and protected species, such as the gopher tortoise or the Eastern indigo snake.

Wildlife Viewing

Wildlife Viewing

Wildlife viewing is possible at the park. The park is on the "Atlantic Fly Way". The park is home to the endangered Florida Scrub Jays. Also pelicans, ospreys, and a wide variety of shorebirds can be spotted. The protected Florida Gopher Tortoise and the whitetail deer can be seen, as well as the elusive Florida bobcat.
