WALK ON THE WET SIDE
Date: July 24, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Description: Join us on July 24 as we celebrate National Recreation and Parks Month with a 'Walk on the Wet Side.' Beginning at 9:00 AM, the park will have displays set up providing visitors with information on sea turtles and sea beans. At 10:00 AM, park rangers will conduct a tide pool walk (approximately 1 hour) and offer a one-hour, guided canoe trip in the mangrove lagoon. The Friends of the Islamorada Area State Parks will be on hand cooking up hamburgers and hotdogs for sale along with sodas and water. Following lunch at 2:00 PM, the park will offer a second guided canoe trip. There is no charge, other than park admission, for these activities. Visitors may register for the canoe trips upon arrival at the park.

RANGER-GUIDED WALK

Join a park ranger for a 2-hour walk along the Golden Orb Trail. The trail is approximately 1.3 miles long and traverses several different plant communities including coastal scrub and tropical hardwood hammock.
