Volunteer Spotlight, Brian Bombassei
Brian enjoys mountain biking. Helping with trail maintenance supports the sport and helps visitors have an incredible experience.
Brian Bombassei is the Vice President of the Ocala Mountain Bike Association and the leader of the trail maintenance crew for OMBA. He loves to work with like-minded people, and the OMBA crew is very dedicated. The members all want to see the trails in the best shape possible, so visitors can ride safely and have an incredible experience.
The Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway has been Brian’s home base for mountain biking since the late 1980s. Brian joined OMBA to give back to the place that provided him an escape from his day-to-day life for so many years. As a small business owner, he never feels like he can completely get away from the job unless he can get into the woods and lose himself on the trail. The time spent in the woods allows him to come back to his life with a seemingly lighter load.
When you visit the greenway, you might find Brian mowing, trimming and clearing the 80+ miles of bike trails. Brian organizes two OMBA workdays a month, starting from the Santos Campground.
If you would like to join Brian on a work day you can visit Facebook. He would love to see you on the trails!
