Jeanne Ellis

Jeanne started with the Florida Park Service before it was the park service. She has worked in our office since 2001, when the properties were known as the Crystal River Buffer Preserve and St. Martins Aquatic Preserve.

Jeanne serves as the administrative assistant for Crystal River Preserve State Park, Crystal River Archaeological State Park and Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins Historic State Park. When asked what her favorite part of the job is, Jeanne replies, “Working with a delightful, enthusiastic team of individuals.”

Co-workers describe Jeanne as cheerful, dedicated and resourceful. She is a behind-the-scenes problem solver, dedicated to meeting the needs of the park.

Outside of work, Jeanne enjoys family adventures with her archaeologist husband, artist daughter and park ranger son, while also doing art, enjoying her pets, and playing and collecting ukuleles (“If I look like I am listening to you, in my head, I am really playing ukulele.”)

The Crystal River state parks are fortunate to have Jeanne’s knowledge and dedication that help us keep park operations running smoothly!
