Dora Rockefeller, Administrative Assistant

Dora is amazed by the wildlife seen at Blue Spring State Park.

Born in Connecticut, Dora was accustomed to harsh winters. She moved to Arizona when she was 14, and later, at 29, to Minnesota. She finally landed in Florida in 1998.

Dora has three grown children and six grandchildren who all reside in Minnesota. While she loves to visit family in Minnesota, she is always happy to return to the warmth of the Sunshine State. She enjoys cruising, fishing, gardening, casinos and the beach.

Dora started her administrative career with Volusia County’s Information Technology Department in 2005, moving to the Department of Transportation in 2014. While she admits she has plenty of administrative experience, she also says she had no state park experience when she came on board.

“I am amazed everyday by the wildlife in Blue Spring, from the deer, manatees, scrub-jay and, yes, even the bears. While I continue to grow in my position, learning the ins and outs of state parks, I could not ask for a better place to work. I love my job."
