Joshua Hodson, Park Manager

Welcome to John Gorrie Museum State Park! While visiting historic Apalachicola, let park staff interpret the local history and contributions made by famous resident Dr. John Gorrie. You should also plan a visit to the other areas in Apalachicola managed by the Florida Park Service: the Orman House, Chapman Botanical Gardens and the Three Soldiers detail statue.

John Gorrie Museum State Park is always seeking the aid of volunteers in many areas including general maintenance, landscaping and lawn maintenance, and cataloguing of collections. If you are interested in volunteering at John Gorrie Museum State Park or Orman House Historic State Park, please contact us at 850-653-1209.

Please consider joining the Friends of Franklin County State Parks citizen support organization. The friends mission is to generate support for state parks through work projects, community relations, exhibits, fundraising activities, special events and educational activities. A yearly membership fee will gain you access to John Gorrie Museum State Park, the Orman House Historic State Park and Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park, as well as the chance to get involved and help out our parks. To sign up, please visit www.FOFCSP.org
