Crystal River Preserve State Park

Zach Phifer, Park Manager

If you’re looking to experience the Real Florida, you will find just that within Crystal River Preserve State Park. The park offers recreation opportunities for hikers and bikers, anglers, kayakers, photographers and many others.

Wet a line at mullet hole or redfish hole, launch a kayak from one of the two launches, sit along the water’s edge and photograph the many wading birds that call Crystal River home; the opportunities are endless! You may have the opportunity to see roseate spoonbills, bald eagles or osprey. From the water’s edge you could catch a glimpse of a manatee as it seeks warm water, a dolphin splashing or a mullet jumping. Each of our trails provide a chance to see wildlife.

We’re pleased to offer kayak rentals and pontoon boat rentals for meandering along the Crystal River and seeing the Preserve’s varied habitats and numerous tidal creeks.

I am thankful for the great staff and volunteers here at the park. Without their dedication to the park’s natural and cultural resources, it wouldn’t be the great place that it is for all of us to enjoy.

I know where my favorite spot of the Preserve is, and I hope to see you in the park soon as you find yours!
