Jonathan Dillard, Park Manager
We invite you to explore our museum, the monument and the beautiful landscape of Constitution Convention Museum State Park. Take a self-guided tour of the museum and learn about historic Port St. Joe, where legislators met from across the territories of Florida to draft a constitution. Life-sized audio-animated mannequins bring the convention hall and debate of delegates to life. View artifacts from the original settlement of St. Joseph, a boom town in 1838. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday through Monday, and closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
Both locals and visitors enjoy strolling the grounds of the 14-acre park. Tall pines, majestic oaks and Southern magnolias shade the property. At the center of the grounds is the Constitution Convention Monument, erected in 1922. The memorial mall, lined with sabal palms, provides a stunning vista that leads all the way to St. Joseph Bay.
Constitution Convention Museum State Park is always seeking the aid of volunteers. If you would like to help keep the park beautiful or share the history of the park with others, please contact us at 850-229-1595. We have several volunteer opportunities available and training is provided. One of those opportunities is to join the Friends of St. Joseph State Parks, a dedicated group of volunteers who serve as the park’s nonprofit citizen support organization. They assist the park with programs, special events and fundraising. The volunteers are an extremely important part of the park and welcome new members who share the same passion and love for Constitution Convention Museum State Park. You can see their good work by following them on Facebook or at their website.
Thank you for your interest in Constitution Convention Museum State Park. We hope you and your family will enjoy a stroll on the grounds, tour the museum and stay for the sunset over St. Joseph Bay.
