Manager's Message

Adam Belden, Park Manager

Our concessionaire is happy to rent kayaks and canoes to anyone looking to explore the plethora of inlets, canals and ponds. The park concessionaire can be reached at 727-478-3146 or just stop in and see them at the main park entrance.

Fishing at Werner-Boyce has been terrific as well as can be seen in this photo of Caitlyn Belden with her black drum. If you catch a whopper, send your name and photo to Adam.Belden@FloridaDEP.gov and I will put your photo on the manager's message. Happy fishing!

Our trails are open and extensions have been made. Red Spring trail is our newest and is single track as requested. As you walk this trail keep an eye out for box cut stumps - these date back to the 1800s and are relics from the days of turpentining.

Our most current project in the works is a five-station salt works that we hope to have completed by September. Once the project is complete, visitors will be able to experience salt production as it was done on this site 175 years ago.

One of the main focuses of the park is to clear exotic plants and return the vegetation to its natural state.

We invite you all to come out and explore, see the bald eagles and their nest, view roseate spoonbills wading right off the trails, and hopefully spot our playful otters and dolphins just off the kayak launch. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
