Manager's Message
Dennis Parson, Park Manager
If you would like to experience the way life was in Florida 100-150 years ago, then stop by Dudley Farm and get that experience first-hand. The park has a number of exciting programs and events planned throughout the year. Please visit the event section for more information.
Schools and other groups interested in guided tours are invited to experience a true 19th-century, working Florida farm. Tours are provided Wednesday through Friday. We are closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
School groups and organizations must make reservations for tours at least one month in advance. Groups are limited to 40 people. Please plan group tours by calling the Dudley Farm at 352-472-1142 and leaving a message with your group name, your phone number, a requested date, and number of people for the tour. Our staff will respond as soon as possible.
A few items to consider to ensure your visit is an enjoyable one:
- To ensure the safety of visiting pets and the park's livestock, pets are restricted to the nature trail, picnic area and visitor center lot. Pets are not allowed on the farmstead.
- All water sources at the farmstead are non-potable water for demonstration purposes only (such as the hand pump). A water fountain with drinkable water is available near the restroom in the visitor center area.
- We provide assistance in reaching the farmstead by running a small tram with the capability to transport one wheelchair and approximately three to four people at a time upon request. Beach wheelchairs and a chair lift are also available for use.
The Friends of Dudley Farm run a small commissary, selling books, children's toys and a number of farm-related items. The shop is managed by volunteers and operating times vary based on the season. Please contact the park for operating times when planning your visit.
