Heath Alboher, Park Manager
I often come to this quiet neighborhood park to take time out from a busy day. Fernandina Plaza’s history dates back 2,000 years as a place Native Americans used as a campsite, and later became the northern-most military post of Spanish Florida.
Take some time to learn about this rich history through the several interpretive panels located on the site. Have a picnic or sit and enjoy the view of the river over the bluff. The park is easy to find and free to visit.
Don’t forget to get your official “Passport Book” stamp at Fernandina Plaza’s sister park, Fort Clinch, located just down the road.
Come out and experience the park- my staff and volunteers are here to help you, and share in our enjoyment and passion, so you can experience the Real Florida.
