Cody Peters, Park Manager
Along the gulf shores of Naples, one can find a slice of paradise at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. Whether it’s to escape the Florida heat cooling off in aqua blue waters, building sandcastles in the white sands or beachcombing for shells memories are sure to be made. While enjoying the beach side guests may get a glimpse of dolphins, manatees or sea turtles swimming offshore.
In addition to the beach, the park offers guests the opportunity to see tropical hammocks and mangrove swamps which boast an abundance of wildlife. Be on the lookout for gopher tortoises, fiddler crabs, marsh rabbits and various wading birds that call these habitats home.
A boat ramp is provided for guests to easily launch vessels into Water Turkey Bay meandering along the mangroves making their way to Wiggins Pass, an opening to the Gulf of Mexico. Be sure to bring a fishing pole, as fishing is also a popular activity at the park on both the gulf side and bay side.
Are you interested in giving back? Did you know that volunteers benefit the Florida Park Service in a variety of different ways? The Friends of Delnor-Wiggins provide a great opportunity to give back to the park. If you are interested in volunteering or need information about the friends group, please call the park office or come see us.
