North of the Deer Lake State Park entrance is the trailhead to the nature trail, which consists of two smaller trails for visitors to enjoy:
- The Orange Trail is a mile loop that gives you views of pines, deer moss and other fauna.
- The Blue Trail is a half-mile trail that takes you to the scenic overlook of the northern part of Deer Lake.
Park admission is $3 per vehicle and $2 per pedestrian/bicycle. Park hours of operation are 8 a.m. to sunset daily.
