Manager's Message

Season’s Greeting! Thank you for showing an interest in Lake Louisa State Park by visiting our internet page. Why not come out to the park itself and enjoy it first hand? It is in the middle of the Holidays and most people spend a lot of time cooking and / or eating. Even though most flowers are setting their seeds right now, we do have beautiful trails with a mix of mainly green and splashes of red. The park offers unpaved trails for hiking, some biking, and riding. We also have fishing piers, pavilions, canoe rental, cabins, campground, and primitive camping available. Most importantly we have a rich wild life as well. Bob cats, otters, wild turkey, Sherman Fox Squirrels, Gopher tortoises, Sand skinks, Eastern Indigos, Eastern diamond backs, pygmy rattle snakes, Green rough snake, and Ospreys to mention a few. The migratory bird species have been arriving and still are which creates a great reason for birdwatchers to come. Please observe the weather and dress appropriately as the temperatures may vary. Our park really is a gem with its flora and fauna. Being surrounded by nature gives an instant sense of relaxation and calmness; it replenishes both your body and soul.

We are looking forward to seeing you here at Lake Louisa State Park.
- Charles McIntire, Park Manager

Welcome to Lake Louisa State Park

A short drive from Orlando, this park is noted for its six beautiful lakes, rolling hills, and scenic landscapes. Lake Louisa is the largest in a chain of 13 lakes connected by the Palatlakaha River, which is designated as an Outstanding Florida Waterway. Lake Louisa, Dixie Lake, and Hammond Lake, the park's most accessible lakes, provide access for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Anglers can fish in four of the park's six lakes, but gasoline-powered boats are not allowed; only boats powered by trolling motors or without motors are permitted. Camping facilities and more than 15 miles of horse trails are available for equestrians. For hikers and backpackers, the park has over 20 miles of hiking trails with excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Dixie Lake has a fishing pier, canoe/kayak launch, and a picnic pavilion. The park also has a full-facility campground, fully furnished cabins for rent, and primitive campsites. Lake Louisa State Park is located just seven miles south of State Road 50 in Clermont on U.S. 27.
