Lake Louisa State Park Volunteer Information
Volunteer Positions Available
Description:
Trail Maintenance person.
Patrols the park's entire trail system and addresses any maintenance issues.
Specific Tasks:
Trimming low or encroaching branches and vegetation.
Removing debris and litter.
Checking trail markers for damage, repair, accuracy, etc.
Removing overgrowth from marker posts.
Reporting any major problems found.
Time Required:
2 hours per week minimum
Qualifications:
Ability to work outdoors.
Capable of using hand tools and small gas operated tools (ex: weedwacker) safely.
Valid driver's license and ability to operate on and off road vehicles safely.

Description:
Exotic Plant Removal
Specific Tasks :
Identify exotics in the park.
Remove by hand / and / or use of herbicide.
Time Required :
2 hours per week minimum.
Qualifications :
Ability to work outdoors.
Capable of using hand tools and herbicide safely and effectively.
Willing to learn how to mix and apply herbicide, and to identify exotic plant species.
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate on and off road vehicles safely.
