Manager's Message
The heat of summer has arrived at Lake Kissimmee State Park. Although we do not have any designated swimming areas, there are plenty of other ways to keep cool while enjoying the Real Florida. You could enjoy a picnic lunch with your family and friends under one of our covered pavilions, enjoy a weekend camping in our shady campground, launch your boat into a canal that takes you out to Lake Kissimmee, take a short walk through an oak hammock, or try to catch a breeze at the top of our observation tower.
Before you visit the park, there are a few suggested items to bring with you: plenty of drinking water, sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, insect spray and you should wear loose, breathable clothing.
Camping reservations can be made through Reserve America by calling 1-800-326-3851 or on their website www.ReserveAmerica.com. Reservations for pavilions are made through the park by calling the Ranger Station at 863/696-1112.
New Cow Camp hours:
The Cow Camp at Lake Kissimmee State Park will be closed from May 1st through October 1st; with the exception of holiday weekends. Operating hours for the Cow Camp during holiday weekends will be from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Special Cow Camp requests can be made for groups of 15 or more by contacting the Ranger Station at 863/696-1112.

Welcome to Lake Kissimmee State Park
Florida's cowboy heritage comes alive with living history demonstrations of the early Florida "cow hunters" in an 1876-era cow camp. White-tailed deer, bald eagles, sandhill cranes, turkeys, and bobcats have been seen in the park, located on the shores of lakes Kissimmee, Tiger, and Rosalie. Visitors enjoy boating, canoeing, and fishing in the picturesque lakes. Nature students can hike over 13 miles of trails to observe and study the abundant plant and animal life. Six miles of trails are open to equestrians. A large, shaded picnic area with pavilions is available. The park has full-facility campsites, as well as a primitive camping facility. The youth camping area can accommodate up to 50 people. The dark skies make stargazing a popular nighttime activity for campers. Located off State Road 60 15 miles east of Lake Wales.
