As the summer months come to a peak, what better way get outdoors than to celebrate Park and Recreation Month this July!

On Sept. 9 and 10, 2023, Florida State Parks will join with Girl Scouts across the United States to celebrate Girl Scouts Love State Parks. Girl Scout troops are invited to visit a Florida State Park to participate in activities that support the theme of "Stewardship, let's show the love!"

October is Florida Greenways and Trails Month. It’s a perfect time to find a trail for hiking, bicycling, paddling or going for a horse ride.

If hiking, camping, swimming and fishing are on your list for outdoor fun, then look to Florida’s state parks for the best places where your family and friends can play.

Strolling through a forest or relaxing by a lake can make us feel better — and lower stress has mental and physical benefits. Sometimes it’s difficult to make time for the outdoors, but getting just a little bit of nature can have a big positive impact.

Whether by bicycle, horse, wheelchair, kayak or on your own two feet, trails both within and outside our state parks can lead to a wide variety of adventure and opportunity throughout Florida.
